Independence

Happy Independence Day!!! I sit waiting to go walk in the parade with the kids from work. I am excited about today and all the cool stuff we will do. As I sit in the quiet waiting for the kids to wake up I ponder this day. I understand on the human level what today means. I understand and am so thankful for the independence and freedoms we hold as Americans, but I was thinking what does today mean on the spiritual level? I am involved in a Bible Study with ladies from church. We are going through the book "Breaking Free-Making freedom in Christ a reality in my life." So today more then any other July 4th I reflect on true freedom. If I am held in bondage by not experiencing true freedom in Christ then all the freedoms I hold dear as an American mean nothing. So today I stand with new resolve to whole heartily pursue true freedom in Christ!!
